In 1959, School of Textiles Head Malcolm E. Campbell appointed Grover the head of the school's new Department of Textile Technology. Grover received an honorary fellowship from the Textile Institute in Manchester, England, the organization's highest honor, in 1962. He authored numerous publications, including the (1960). He was active in numerous professional organizations, including Sigma Xi and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Grover retired from the university in 1966. Malcolm Eugene Campbell was born January 25th, 1902, in New Bedford, Massachusetts. He graduated from the Textiles School at New Bedford Institute of Technology in 1922, and went on to teach textiles engineering at Clemson University, where he received his bachelor's degree.
